Income opportunity

According to the Manufacturing Institute (The Skills Gap in U.S.

Manufacturing 2015 and Beyond) over the next decade nearly 3.5 million manufacturing jobs will likely need to be filled. The skills gap is

expected to result in 2 million of those jobs going unfilled.

Employment of drafters is projected to show little or no change from 2012 to 2022. Qualified applicants, including those with technical training

and certification, should have the best job opportunities, particularly in growing high-technology industries.

The median annual wage for drafters is $49,630.*
